Expanding the Concept | Design Bust-ed

 Moving Forward

This week was focused on simply completing the rough design. I prioritized the torso after getting a front view of the head. The front view of the head utilized guidelines and the side profile to rough out a general shape.

I enjoy the form thus far. It feels fairly wide but that's likely a quirk of the 2D art. I think I'll have the head taper more towards the chin, but otherwise it feels on par to what I'm looking to make.
So when it comes to the head I altered the spacer color to red after completing the torso. The torso is rough at this point and some critique could help reach a concrete design. I have yet to reach a complete idea of what the arms and legs will look like. The cockpit and where the arms and legs meet the torso are to my standards. The actually chest just doesn't feel complete. I think leaning more into the sharp points would add to the overall look. I want to avoid focusing too much on perfecting the concept art and work on the modeling itself. Given where it's at I think roughing out the arm, leg, and any accessories will give me a solid idea of what to model. The color in this case is just an idea of what I plan to do next and it just looks good.
Overall I enjoy the direction I'm going in. I'm more confident in my modeling at present over my two dimensional renders. The color ways may change and I may draw reference more from other Knightmare Frames or mechs from other series to adjust the form. Otherwise I may have one more week or half-week of concepting before proceeding.
