Week 14 -- Nearing Completion

First this week I set up a dedicated fin form. I enjoyed the shape and how it fit in with the rest of the body. I may modify the slight angles and elements of the fins, but for now that is the main form. The fins are separate parts from the body for easy movement.

Next I acted on a recommendation that a ball joint in every part may over elongate the model and make it look malformed. So I instead opted for a sort of bowing out and the end of each piece so that they may rotate freely within one another. This keeps the length shorter and the parts still linked up.

This is the nearly finished form of the model. I enjoy it deeply. Again I may adjust the angles. The tail region will see some modification in terms of angle but otherwise I am pleased with the shape. I will need to angle it to match. The fins may be angled down further to give off more of that Orca feel. But outside of the lattice tool the model is near completion.
