Week 12 -- Direction Found, Progress Made

     After feeling lost with the direction of this project I found a direction and blazed on. The previous versions of the model were scrapped and a whole new mesh was created. The segmented body leans into the mechanical nature of the model.

    

    The front was flattened like the first attempt and the dorsal fin was taken from the second attempt. I received a suggestion to create a visor-esque view window for a pilot. I enjoyed the suggestion and implemented it into the model. I have yet to decide if this will be a view window or just an emission.

The visor shape is not satisfactory as I want it to be thinner and look more angry. This is more so a proof of concept. I eventually want to create normal maps to create refraction in the visor. So I will probably shift towards a more headlight feature.

Here are two wireframes and AO render of the model. The AO render is very pleasing. There are areas like the flat part of the head I want to round a bit more if its more visible in other angles. The silhouette is very pleasing and I am excited to attach fins to the sides to really make a silhouette that pops. Later I will add pipes and other small details to give character to the model. Otherwise I must simply model like the wind.
