Week Two -- LEGO Progress - 1 -

 The Base Plate

In the first week of the project much of what was done was figuring out where to go from here. The modeling done so far is hardly worth reporting. A handful of simple bricks. I was more interested in figuring out where to take the project. First I came across sets that seemed fun but due to scope or project parameters had to be passed.

This set looked really fun and seasonal but the scope looked beyond what I was capable of. It also had far too many unique pieces that couldn't make use of modular modeling.
This set was a clear no as it bore car only in the name and in no way resembles a car. So this "car" had to be passed on. I may consider trying to do this set in the future.

So I had to find the subject of my construction so I browsed the BrickSet catalog and found two candidates that I thought reasonable and cute.

I decided on this Smart Car set. It has a reasonable amount of parts and it can be made modular. I want to add some texture and render out in Unreal or Unity for aesthetics.

This set was a close second but I simply despised the way it looked. It had the same elements considered in the first but I think I simply wanted the Little Tikes look that comes from my first choice.

I hope to begin construction with the modular blocks by the next update.
