Week Three -- Gaining Traction

 Finding Momentum

After a lot research and feeling out the initial part of the Morca I found myself happy with the progress. Come week three I blocked out the dorsal fin. I ran into some issues regarding the edge loops as I found myself needing to merge vertexes and changing the topography of each piece to fit.
When each piece is done I duplicate and hide a version of the two pieces. Then I take the visible copy combine and merged. The subdivision modeling has been streamlining the process and I have been able to achieve a great deal in a short time.
The only issue I have been having is the scale of the body. Since I am building each part piece by piece I fear it may not come together in an appealing way. I have had to rework the body multiple times, as I have been trying to find a way to achieve the plate and ridged look some of the concept art had. A lot more cutting and massaging the vertexes to come. I hope to complete the top half of the Morca by the end of week four. I may disregard the plated look for now and utilize beveled edges with inward extrusions to give the illusion of plating.
