The Barrel Assignment

 The barrel assignment was a simple one the built more foundational knowledge of Maya. The focus was on workflow and optimization. Utilizing more tools like lattice especially to create the desired shape of the barrel

The concept art chose for the barrel was unsurprisingly a barrel. I deduce it was a 3D model itself.


The primary keynote of the assignment and lesson was the additional focus on UV'ing and effective workflows for UV'ing objects. Taking the time to UV an element that is to be duplicated reduces time spent UV'ing its duplicates. Creating an ID map also reduces time spent texturing. All effective means to create an appealing model
