Unit 2's First Play Test
Playtesting Team Isaac’s Group’s Game
During the playtest we played Azra’s Game as well as Isaac’s Game. Both had entertaining elements as well as interesting formal elements.
Isaac’s game was a culinary strategy game.
-Players: The game supports two players. The types of players that are supported
by the game is vast: aggressive, passive, and etc.
-Objective: The objective is the game is to reach $10,000 before your opponent
-Procedures: The procedures are as follows: hire employees, collect revenue from
Employees, roll/spin for a special event, and repeat.
-Rules: Players can only hire 3 cooks, 2 cashiers, and 1 janitor at a time. Players
cash values never go below zero. If a position is maxed then an employee must be fired prior to hiring a new one.
-Resources: The resources are simple. Money and employees.
-Conflict: The special events can take a player in the lead and put them at the
bottom or take a player at the back of the pack and bring them to first place.
-Boundaries: There’s no true boundaries outside of the rules. You’re mainly limited by
the rules.
-Outcome: One player acquires $10,000 and wins.
The game overall was simple yet elegant. It had entertaining elements that satisfied it’s age group as well. There were a few balancing issues that needed ironing out as well as just specifications of game mechanics. Otherwise the game was phenomenal and I found great enjoyment playing it.
