Things

 The task when doing the "Things" assignment was to capture the subject framed appropriately while creating weight and eye movement.

The goal was to create an aesthetically pleasing image that frames the subject in a way that could tell a story.

In my composition I wanted to utilize the vibrancy of the green crucifix and allow the eye to travel up and to the flame.

The intended focal point was the crucifix as the color is meant to carry the most weight. Whether or not it was achieved is dependent on viewers' opinion of focus.

Unfortunately the crucifix is out of focus and a more stable set up would have made for a much better shot. The knife caused problems as it wasn't a flat color but green like the crucifix.

In post I utilized hue saturation, vibrancy, levels, and curves to bring down the blown out yellow color, bring out the dark of the night, and make the green pop.
