On The Edge
The task when doing the "On the Edge" assignment was to capture the subject of our composition on or close to the edge of the frame.
The goal was to create an aesthetically pleasing using the subject's position to create weight and eye movement.
In my composition I wanted to utilize the sky to create stark contrast between light and dark. And lead into the lighter hidden in the dark.
The eye is drawn to the brightest part, being the light and focal point, as the darker parts seem to just blend together. Hopefully tracking along the highlight on the metal bar and up to the lighter.
Unfortunately a tripod would have made for a clearer image and the lighter could have placed a bit closer to the left side of the frame.
In post I did my best to bring up the highlights on both the bar and lighter so that each stood out from the bush behind them.
